ParaMe, Parasport Sweden
Upgrades and new pages for ParaMe, the site that helps people with disabilities find a sport.
Challenge
ParaMe is Parasport Sweden's site for people with disabilities who want to find a sport. It lists more than 100 sports and activities. Another agency designed, built and launched it with React, Gatsby and Contentful.
Soon after launch, Parasport needed a developer to keep building. They found us on Google, listed as a Gatsby and Contentful developer.
The work had to fit a design system and a codebase that someone else wrote. Accessibility matters on every page, because the audience depends on it.
Solution
Working inside an existing site. We followed the original agency's design patterns and code conventions. New pages look and behave like the rest of the site.
Better search with Algolia. We moved search to Algolia and added filter and sort options to the sport listings and other pages.
Content blocks for editors. We built new Contentful content blocks. The Parasport team now composes pages from those blocks without a developer.
New pages and technical SEO. We designed new pages in Figma and built them, including sport pages and general information about parasport. We also improved the site's technical SEO.
The partnership lasted about a year.
